The Orioles held their annual team Hall of Fame ceremony at Camden Yards last Saturday. The moments leading up to the ceremony were hectic, as rain jeapordized the scheduled start time.

So as I stood in the rain behind home plate, I shot the series of speakers with a towel on my head. The ceremony is always very boring, but it’s neat to see so many Oriole greats in the same place at the same time.

This particular ceremony also had a connection to my own baseball playing days. I’ll never forget the day Mike Bordick visited and spoke with my little league travel team years ago. Al Bumbry, my former high school baseball coach, was also on hand. It’s nice that they’re both still around the stadium.
