Opening Day at Fenway Park: A moment I’ve long been waiting for, and it fulfilled my every expectation. The energy throughout the stadium was booming, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to begin the season in Boston.
What’s more, the Red Sox opened up this homestand with a solid win.Ā
As I did after each game I shot last season, I’ll continue to post one “Thing I Learned” from each game I document this year. This game’s “Thing I Learned”: Navigating through Fenway Park when it’s full of people is incredibly inconvenient. I found myself a bit frustrated after two innings of fighting my way through throngs of drunken fans. Such is the nature of the ballpark, though, and I’ve quickly learned to embrace it!
More to come soon!
thing i learned – how the red sox are already on the brink of imploding – thanks to bobby valentine.
So happy you got to be there! Those are some great pics I love Fenway and my Red Sox! We have tickets to go in June and we’re counting down the days. Opening day has to be something special, though.
What a spectacular shot of Johnny Pesky — love it! š
I agree — when I first heard the story of the Pesky Post, it cracked me up! Nice to have a face to go along with the story. š
Mr. Pesky comes to Unos quite often š Very well done. I was also there. Hopefully, we will win this year!!!
Go Go Red Sox, you’re the best….just a shame I cannot be there….but the World Series is already waiting for you!!!
Boo Red Sox, yeah White Sox, see you in the playoffs.
Go Go Go handsome, cute, … MR. Pesky. Great post! Thanks for sharing the event! Keep up the good work! š
great photo work here, well done! š
Great pics. I’m going to Fenway this weekend (first time ever — I’m traveling to Boston on business) and I can’t wait. I’m taking the camera for sure…
The photos are bursting with color, they’re all so beautiful! You’re so lucky to have been there! š
I had many wonderful times at Fenway Park! I have not been since getting married and moving away. I hope some day soon to bring my children there! I am a TRUE Red Sox fan since I was a child! Grew up with them! Thanks for sharing the pics!
Great photos! What inspiration!
Very nice, season off to a questionable start, but hey , Boston just seems to start slow. It was the way they ended last season that upset me. It was nice to see them take care of business against their “other” nemesis team, Tampa Bay.
nice photography
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing and congratulations on being Freshly Pressed!
If you happen to go back to Fenway for the day game vs the Rangers on August 6th, I will be one of the many drunken fans, hopefully not getting in your way, though! We’re proud members of Red Sox Nation even though we live in Houston and make the trek to Fenway every summer. My 12-yr-old son thinks it’s normal to see the Sox play at home every year but I remind him that a trip to Fenway remains a dream for many grownups! Gorgeous photos, esp the one of Tek. I’m sad he’s not on the roster anymore; such a great role model.
Well done … and there is no place like Opening Day … especially in Cincinnati.
Reblogged this on Politics and Cardigans and commented:
I love baseball, both for the sport and the atmosphere. Not to mention that baseball boys are beautiful… ;]
Wonderful! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed!
Thank you so much for looking, all! Many many more posts to come as the season goes on!
I guess that means Bobby has to lie to the press if they ask his opinion. All he did was tell what he thought, just gave his opinion. Can’t do that? Got to keep it all inside?
Adrian Gonzalez: Espero que luzcas este aƱo como tu sabes hacerlo. Felicidades

What amazing pictures! It must have been an amazing experience, even if it was at Fenway, not Yankee Stadium
Great post, and congratulations on your “fresh-pressed” accomplishment! That isn’t likely to happen for me, as I post video guitar licks/solos and songs with tablature. Once again, congrats!
Red Sox, youāre the best, always and forever.
I really like your blog. Great Pics. Even though my favorite team is the Brew Crew the Red Sox are ny 2nd fav. I was wondering if you could check mine out. Come and see an 11 year old’s view on all things baseball. Please feel free to offer any advice.
