Boston Red Sox Photos: Wednesday, June 24, 2015 vs. Baltimore Orioles.

Last night was a good night for the Red Sox, as they defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-1.

As a team photographer, I always feel better about my set of pictures when we get a win. I really didn’t have a lot to show from the night before, so I’m glad that the team was able to bounce back and provide some nice moments to shoot.

Back at it for a day game today!

Unfortunately, last night was a tough one for the Red Sox on the field against the Baltimore Orioles, so I don’t have too many photos on field to share.

Luckily, we were treated to one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen, so I did some roaming to shoot that. Here are a few from the night.

Enjoy!

Photos: Alums Visit Genesis Fund at Fenway Park.

Yesterday, several Boston Red Sox alumni, including Carl Yastrzemski, Bob Montgomery, Dick Berardino, and Ted Lepcio, were back at Fenway Park to take part in the Genesis Foundation field day.

Here are a few nice moments from the day. Always great to have these guys around!

Yesterday was an exciting day to be at Fenway Park. In the morning, the Red Sox front office was invited to listen in on a talk by the new Commissioner of baseball, Rob Manfred, during his visit to Boston.

In the afternoon, the Red Sox offense broke out, as Brock Holt collected hit for the cycle and led the team to a win. What a game!

Now for some much needed rest and down time after two long back-to-back home stands.

Boston Red Sox Photos: Sunday, June 14, 2015 vs. Toronto Blue Jays.

Here are photos from Sunday’s game agains the Blue Jays. Another loss for the Sox, but kind of a fun day for photos.

David Ortiz continued his hot ways, hitting another home run to move into 29th on the all-time home run list.

Here’s a gallery from last weekend’s Red Sox loss to the Blue Jays. I’m behind on posting because it’s been such a busy home stand, so I’m trying to catch up now!

Not a whole lot going for the Sox this game aside from David Ortiz hitting his 474th career home run, moving him into a tie for 31st on the all-time list! I was happy with the overhead shot of him celebrating, which I captured via a remote camera set up.

Photos: Bette Midler Performs At TD Garden.

I received a last minute call yesterday to shoot Bette Midler during her show at TD Garden in Boston.

We were only allowed to shoot the first three songs, all from the soundboard, so there wasn’t a lot of room for variety in the photos, but it was still a fun experience.

An interesting performer to watch, for sure.

This is a video I shot and edited for the Connecticut Open Tennis Tournament at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Tournament staff held a press conference on-site to officially announce the August 2015 event and highlight the new changes coming to it.

The video combines DSLR footage as well as GoPro footage mounted to my DJI Phantom 2 Drone. The aerial looks give the piece some variety in the b-roll footage accompanying the audio.

I also included a few quick stills from the press event, which featured former American tennis star, James Blake.

It always feels good when you shoot both photo and video simultaneously and get equally good results. A great, productive day all-around!

Video: My Soccer Ball Is My Prom Date.

This is a video I shot and edited for Elite Clubs National League Soccer (ECNL) as a promo piece for their 2014-2015 season social media campaign.

As we’re currently in prom season, and the audience of viewers in this league is mostly high school aged girls, we decided to make a spoof on prom with a simple concept – “I’m taking my soccer ball to prom.” It’s quirky, but I think it’s a funny concept and it was executed well.

A huge thank you to the coaches, families, and players on the Boston Breakers team here in Boston for their help in setting up the actors and providing a venue to shoot in. It would not be possible without them!

Boston Red Sox Photos: Sunday, June 7, 2015 vs. Oakland Athletics.

What a game yesterday! After finding themselves down 4-0 the entire game, the Red Sox managed to pull together a 7-run eighth inning. The late game rally would lead them to a win and a series sweep over the Oakland Athletics, their first sweep of the 2015 season.

It seems like that was huge for team morale, and is hopefully a turning point for a season that has gotten off to a difficult start.

Needless to say, it was a great day for pictures. Unfortunately, I was off my game a bit yesterday, and although this take above looks nice, I have to admit that I missed a few key quick moments. Ultimately, we have pictures that tell the story, but I’m kicking myself for not having a few of those other frames.

I’m glad the team is on the road for just a few days and comes back on Friday. Need to put this one behind me, sharpen up and get back on track!
