Photos: Red Sox Pay Tribute To Jackie Robinson.

For the 15th consecutive year, the Boston Red Sox celebrated the life of Jackie Robinson by teaching New England students the story of his challenges and triumphs. The club visited with 9th and 10th grade students at East Boston High School and Charlestown High School this afternoon, accompanied by former Mayor of Boston and U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn, and Red Sox Hall of Famer Tommy Harper.

Robinson would have turned 98 this Tuesday, January 31.

Also joining the tribute were Chairman of the Great Fenway Park Writers’ Series George Mitrovich, and Red Sox PA announcer and Poet Laureate Dick Flavin. Adam Pellerin of NESN moderated the event. Wally the Green Monster was also on hand, along with the three World Series trophies.

Here are photos from the appearance at Charlestown High School. The first photo shows a young student who became emotional when stating that Jackie Robinson was one of his heroes. In broken english, he said that as an immigrant, adjusting to life in America has been very difficult, but thanked the speakers for their message that they delivered on stage. This was a raw, emotional moment, and a reminder that sports, and the Red Sox, do have a real impact on people.

Photos: New England Patriots Defeat Pittsburgh Steelers To Win AFC Championship.

Here are a few of my images from the end of this year’s AFC Championship Game at Gillette Stadium between the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was at the game as an editor for Pittsburgh Steelers Team Photographer and all around good guy, Karl Roser.

I know what it’s like to work directly for a team, and I know that as a photographer or social media editor, your job can be really tough when things don’t go your team’s way on the field. Unfortunately, that was the case in this game, as Tom Brady and the Patriots rolled past Pittsburgh on their way to the Super Bowl.

At the end of the game, there weren’t any pictures (from a Steelers PR standpoint) to post, so I was free to shoot some features of the Pats celebrations and trophy ceremony. There were a few nice moments with some of the guys. Thanks again to Karl and the Steelers for having me on board!

Photos: Portraits At SoulCycle Boston.

Here are a few portraits from a recent shoot with popular blogger, Chelsea Briche of The Millennial Miss. We shot these during an event she was hosting at Soul Cycle in Boston.

This is pretty different from most of the work I do, but I enjoyed trying some new things and was happy with a few of the end results.

Thanks to Chelsea and Soul Cycle for having me out! I look forward to working together more in the future!

Photos: Mayor Walsh and Red Sox Unveil New Batting Cage at Boston Centers for Youth & Families.

Boston Mayor Walsh and the Boston Red Sox Foundation formally unveiled the first of four indoor batting cages that will be installed in 2017 at Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) community centers throughout the City of Boston. The batting cage installation is made possible by a grant from Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association’s (MLBPA) Youth Development Foundation.

This event was exactly what you would expect from a ribbon cutting photo wise, but it’s a great initiative that the Red Sox have partnered with. I grew up playing baseball, and was always lucky enough to have indoor batting cages to hit in year-round. This project begins giving that same access to kids in the city of Boston, even in the cold winter months. Any young baseball player deserves that!

Photos: 2017 Boston Red Sox Winter Weekend.

The Boston Red Sox once again hosted a weekend getaway of hot stove fun for fans and families last weekend. The third annual “Baseball Winter Weekend” at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, included a Town Hall Meeting with Red Sox leaders, autographs and photos with Red Sox players, and panel discussions on a variety of baseball topics. It also included a full baseball festival for fans of all ages and clinics for kids.

The entire Red Sox roster, including coaches, was invited to attend Winter Weekend. Red Sox alumni were also in attendance along with Wally the Green Monster and his sister Tessie.

This is a tough event to make look pretty visually. Yellow casino lighting and crazy rug patterns don’t make for the best photos, but I still had a great time shooting. The event had great energy, both from the fans and the players. It made me excited for this year, which I think will be a great one for us! Spring Training is right around the corner.

PHOTOS: FROZEN FENWAY DOUBLE HEADER – University Of Connecticut VS. Maine, Northeastern University vs University of New Hampshire.

Here is set of photos from another Frozen Fenway hockey double header yesterday in Boston. The University of Connecticut took on the University of Maine, followed by a matchup between Northeastern University and the University of New Hampshire.

I tried to mix things up and find different pictures, but I have to admit that after shooting two straight weeks of hockey at Fenway every day, with multiple games each day, I am struggling creatively. I think I need a break from hockey.

Here are a few images from two good high school hockey games yesterday at Frozen Fenway.

Here are some photographs from a women’s hockeygame between Boston College and Harvard last night at a rainy, slippery Frozen Fenway.

The Boston Pride professional women’s hockey team hosted a youth clinic last night out on the ice at Frozen Fenway. Despite a little rain, this was a nice event. It’s neat to see a women’s professional team here at Fenway!
