Boston Red Sox Photos: Tuesday, September 22, 2015 vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

I’m way behind on my blogging. Here are photos from the second game of the last homestand of the 2015 season. Not a great night for photos overall, but wanted to get the post out in the interest of getting caught up.

More soon!

The Red Sox honored David Ortiz yesterday, who returned home to Fenway Park for the first time since hitting his 500th career home run. The slugger was joined by Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, former players Pedro Martinez, Tim Wakefield, and Jason Varitek, and other Red Sox executives and ownership.

Here are some moments from the ceremony, as well as from an exciting game to follow. After a back and forth battle and several lead changes, shortstop Xander Bogaerts was able to finally seal the win with an eighth inning grand slam, and some great reactions after!

One game down in the last home stand of the 2015 season!

Yesterday, the Boston Red Sox announced that Fenway Park will play host to the sport of Hurling this fall as part of the AIG Fenway Hurling Classic & Irish Festival. The Irish sport is returning to Fenway Park for the first time since 1954.

I know nothing about this game, but it seems like it will be something interesting and different to photograph! Here are a few quick snaps from yesterday’s press conference announcement.

Here are some photos from the last game of a long, busy home stand. David Ortiz continued his hot streak, hitting career home run #498.

I tried to separate myself from the pack of photographers and move around to shoot from different angles last night. It felt good to be mobile, and it worked out well for the Ortiz home run.

We’ll see if I’m chasing him around for #500 on the road!

Here is a quick set of images from yesterday’s game between the Red Sox and the first place Blue Jays. The Red Sox pulled out the win, making four straight for them!

Another great game for the Red Sox yesterday. David Ortiz hit career home run number 497, inching him closer to that 500 mark. It looks like he might get there this season! It’s been exciting to document over the past few weeks.

More baseball on this labor day weekend today.

Yesterday was a wild one! A little league style inside the park grand slam (a double and a few errors) doesn’t happen every day, but Xander Bogaerts pulled it off yesterday and it was exciting.

I was shooting from the third base side, which worked out well for that moment. The reaction of the guys during the play at the plate is priceless.

David Ortiz also continued his chase for history, hitting home run number 496.

Here are some images from yesterday’s game between the Sox and Yanks. A blowout by New York!

Good to have an off day mid-homestand today.

I’m back in Boston after a great weekend visiting friends and working in New York City. I was thrown right back into the craziness of the season last night with a game against the New York Yankees and all kinds of activity before it.

With the Deutsche Bank Championships taking place this week in Boston, all the PGA golfers are in the area, and last night, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler made appearances at Fenway Park. Spieth threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Red Sox organization also recognized the Go Gold For Cancer initiative, which raises awareness for childhood cancer. During the third inning, players from both teams and fans paused to hold up yellow cards with names of loved ones battling cancer. It was a nice moment and show of support by Red Sox Nation.

And there was a game, too. The Yankees beat the Sox 3-1. More ball today!

It was a wet, wild, sloppy game all around yesterday to close out this long, busy, exhausting home stand here at Fenway Park.

I need some rest!
