Stills: Dustin Pedroia Retirement.

This Boston Red Sox honored former second baseman Dustin Pedroia during pregame ceremonies at Fenway Park before a game against the New York Yankees. Pedroia, who played in 1,512 games with the club from 2006–19, announced his retirement from the Red Sox and the game of baseball on February 1, 2021.

During the ceremony, Pedroia was met by former teammates Tim Wakefield, Mike Lowell, and Jacoby Ellsbury, as well as Pedro Martinez, Luis Tiant, and various community partners. At the ceremony’s conclusion, retired professional wrestler Ric Flair surprised Pedroia and announced “Play Ball” alongside him and his sons Dylan, Brooks and Cole.

The Sox beat the Yankees 5–3, and once the field cleared and the Fenway lights dimmed, Pedroia took the field for one last portrait at second base.

Here is my set of images from the day.

Boston Red Sox Photos: Red Sox Receive World Series Rings On 2019 Opening Day.

The Boston Red Sox returned to Fenway Park yesterday for their 2019 home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays. Before the game, players, coaches, and team staff received their 2018 World Series championship rings. Members of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots were also in attendance for the ceremony.

It was an awesome day to be a part of despite not ideal weather conditions and an ugly game. We’re lucky to be able to do what we do and call it work.

More ring fun today.

The Red Sox played their final Spring Training game of the season today against the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona. The team now heads to Seattle for the start of the 2019 regular season.

Boston Red Sox Photos: Sports Illustrated Leading Off.

I was contracted by Sports Illustrated to document a few days of life behind the scenes at Red Sox Spring Training camp earlier this week. The photos were compiled into a three page spread in the Leading Off section of this week’s magazine in print and online.

Thanks so much to Marguerite Schropp and the team at Sports Illustrated for considering me for this assignment and for the help and guidance along the way. What an honor to be published so prominently! Above is a gallery of my favorite images from the few days, as well as the screenshots of the magazine spread.

Boston Red Sox Photos: 2019 Photo Day.

Another Boston Red Sox team photo day is in the books! Early yesterday morning, the full roster of Red Sox players and coaches posed for portraits during the annual event. This is always a great opportunity for our creative department to gather visual content to use ahead of the upcoming season.

This year, we re-created our white seamless look from last year as a safety net, but also went big and bold with a full red look. We built out a set with red seamless backdrops and a stage dressed in red turf to recreate the look of a room corner. We also mixed in red baseballs, bats, a red Fenway Park seat, and other red props to give the shoot some flare.

This was a risk for us, but I’m so proud of our team for executing this so flawlessly. I’m super happy with these results. A big thanks to the players for their time, and for everyone in the Creative Services and Media Relations teams for making it happen.
