Boston Red Sox Photos: Saturday, April 14, 2018 vs. Baltimore Orioles.

The Red Sox won again yesterday against the Orioles. A red hot offense put up ten runs, and starting pitcher Hector Velazquez allowed just two runs over five innings.

Rick Porcello threw six innings of no-hit baseball last night, which was all the Red Sox needed to beat the Yankees 6–3. The win gave the Red Sox their fourth straight series win this season.

Great one last night! Here are some photos.

Boston Red Sox Photos: Sunday, April 8, 2018 vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

The Red Sox pulled off one of the crazier wins I’ve seen today, coming from behind 7-2 in the eighth inning to win 8-7. Make that eight straight wins for the team.

Hot start to the season! I tried to experiment a little bit with off camera strobe inside the tunnel before the game. I am happy with some of the early results and look forward to expanding on the concept more this season.

The Red Sox continued their hot streak, winning their seventh game in a row yesterday. A grand slam by Xander Bogaerts and home runs by Rafael Devers and J.D. Martinez made for a good day of Red Sox shooting.

Another one today.

Boston Red Sox Photos: 2018 Opening Day Vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

We’re underway again at Fenway Park! This week’s Opening Day was my seventh with the Red Sox, and ninth in Major League Baseball. I’m getting old.

As Opening Days go, this was a good one. The Red Sox came from behind to beat the Tampa Bay Rays on a walk-off hit by Hanley Ramirez in the twelfth inning.

Before the game, the team welcomed Winter Olympians and Paralympians from the New England region in a moving pre-game ceremony, which included a special appearance by David Ortiz.

Here are the photos from the game.

I’m en route back to Boston from Tampa, so I wanted to get these photos from yesterday’s Opening Day out before things get too crazy. It was a wild game yesterday that didn’t go the Red Sox way, but it was fun to shoot nonetheless.

Boston Red Sox Photos: Opening Day Workouts.

The Red Sox have arrived in St. Petersburg, where they took batting practice and infield drills ahead of tomorrow’s Opening Day game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

I’m back down in Florida to cover the game, so shot some frames at the Trop today.

Spring Training games began at JetBlue Park today with a single-admission doubleheader against the Northeastern University Huskies and the Boston College Eagles.

Boston Red Sox Photos: 2018 Photo Day.

Early this morning, the full Boston Red Sox roster of players and coaches posed for portraits during photo day, the annual event that allows photographers to gather content for use throughout the 2018 season.

For us in the Red Sox marketing department, photo day is always a tough but stimulating challenge. How do you create a portrait look and feel that is stylized and creative, yet also simple enough to function in an assembly line style shoot of over 60 subjects in a short time period? This year’s result was a five light high-key set up on white seamless. A bit of rim light on each player gave the portraits the finishing touch they needed to separate the subject from the background.

Above is a gallery of some favorites! A big thanks to everyone in the Red Sox Creative Services and Media Relations teams for making it happen. This day is a true team effort!
