Another long one last night! A few blown leads, lead changes, game tying hits, and twelve innings later, I actually got a few nice action images.

This game’s “Thing I Learned”: Stay focused in the late innings! Pictures are waiting to be made.

Sunday games are always busy, and this Sunday was no exception! Over the course of the game, I found myself in just about every part of the stadium at one point – from Yawkey Way and Lansdowne Street outside to the concourses below the stadium to the highest points of the upper deck to the first base photo pit on field level.

It made for a long day of climbing and running around in the heat, but I got what I hope is a nice variety of images.

I’m particularly liking the first two photos of this post. We don’t shoot in the clubhouse much, so it was good to get some “behind the scenes” type of features of players and coaches hanging out before the game.

This game’s “Thing I Learned”: It’s good to keep yourself active and not stay in one spot for too long. Although it can be more tiring, it keeps your eye sharp and keeps you from becoming complacent.

Another hot one last night, but an exciting one as the Red Sox pulled of the late inning comeback win to sweep the Miami Marlins.

I had to shoot a few things before the game, so I hung around during batting practice and was able to get some nice candid shots documenting player-fan interactions. As for the game itself, I shot a good mix of Fenway features and game action.

This game’s “Thing I Learned”: This will be my last Boston Red Sox post for several weeks, as I’m headed overseas for some exciting work! Last night, I was reminded to soak it all in. Shooting pictures at baseball games really is my dream job, and I’ll miss it for the next few weeks.

We had an exiting game yesterday between the Red Sox and the hometown hero Orioles. It was back and forth all night until Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a two run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending whose side I’m on – I’m still conflicted), the homer wasn’t enough and the Orioles were able to lock up the win the next inning.

It was nice to have the birds in town and to see some orange and black at Fenway. I parked myself in an empty seat in the front row next to the Sox dugout, and that’s where I stayed for most of the game. It turned out to be a good spot because two fans with orange Eddie Murray jerseys sat down right next to me.

So, I made some nice frames as I shot baseball while watching the Celtics/Heat game on the TV in front of my seat. Not a bad night. This game’s “Thing I Learned”: I should hang out around that dugout area more often. There’s definitely some nice portraits to be made there.
