The Red Sox won again yesterday, as Andrew Benintendi went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI to lead the Red Sox to a 6–2 win over the Oakland A’s. It was their third straight series win to complete this nine game home stand.

A favorite jersey dress code was also enforced on the team’s charter to Tampa, so I got a few quick portraits of the players with their jerseys.

Here is a gallery of photos from a game yesterday against the Oakland Athletics. An unexpected rain delay and a blowout game made for a lackluster photo night, but at least I got Abad posing on his scooter.

Chalk last night down officially as the longest baseball game I’ve ever shot, and I’ve done some long ones. 19 innings! This six hour marathon ended at 1:11 AM, when Mookie Betts led off with a double and Hanley Ramirez followed with a bloop single to end the game.

I’m just glad we came up on the winning end of it!

The city of Boston today declared Sept. 5 as Pete Frates Day in honor of Pete Frates, the former Boston College baseball player whose battle with ALS inspired the Ice Bucket Challenge.

In attendance at the proclamation were Boston Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy and Chairman Tom Werner, as well as Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.

I’m back in Boston after a few days in New York City, and hit the ground running with the start of a ten game homestand last night. This was a tough game for the team, so not too much to shoot on my end.
